Brand:
B’ukleb’

B’ukleb’ is a Cacao production cooperative run by Mayan women from Santa María Cahabó, a community located in the the mountains of central Guatemala.

The design was developed in collaboration with representatives of the cooperative to ensure cultural pertinence. For that, process co-design techniques were used to establish a visual common language and to identify the most appropriate design elements.

B’ukleb’ as a meaning is important for the concept of this brand, as that’s the special name given to the container used by ancient mayan culture to present the ceremonial drink of cacao.

Develop into context of the Awal Q’anil project managed by We Effect and funded by The European Union.
